THIS IS A COMPLETE PANE OF 20 STAMPS AS PICTURED. ~ On August 9, 2001 in Nappanee, IN; the USPS inaugurated a new series called American Treasures, with a set of four stamps depicting colorful Amish quilts. According to the USPS "The Amish quilt is a uniquely American folk-art form. Distinctive in its simplicity, symmetry, deft needlework and broad fields of deep color, the Amish quilt is one of the most expressive in American design." Once made only for family use and gifts, Amish quilts are now prized by the outside world. The Amish quilts featured on this stamp se-tenant are traditional designs from Lancaster County, Pennsylvania.
