This disconnects the front handlebars so that the child cannot override the adults movements. If the red button is on the left side, press it down and holding it down turn the whole front wheel round until the red button is on the opposite side. Once it is in the correct position the red button with pop back up by itself.\nThe pedals lock and unlock using the clutch disc on the side of the front wheel. Pull it out so that the pedals are disconnected and have no power behind them. This means, when the child is too young to pedal, if the pedal comes into contact with the child\'s feet they stop without causing harm. When the child is ready to pedal for themselves the disc can be clicked back into the wheel so that they power the trike.
