This excavator toy's build has heavy duty bolted joints with no bearings or bushings to wear out. Our kids think this digger digs better then the rest. The shovel is made of thick metal.. almost 1/8" thick. This is a bigger and heavier sandbox toy digger so 5 years through 12 years is recommended. The backhoe arms also don't have stops on them to limit the bucket angle so you can get a big scoop of dirt. Works great for sandbox, beach, snow, gravel, dirt.
