On April 5, 1755 His Majesty's Marine Forces was established under Admiralty control. During the American War for Independence, the Marines were heavily engaged and also became the inspiration for the new United States Marines. In 1802, His Majesty's Marines were awarded the Royal title and their uniform facings became blue like all the other Royal regiments. This new W. Britain collection called "Jack Tars & Leathernecks" will feature both Marines and Naval personnel from many countries of the world. This collection will have marines, sailors, officers and landing parties.
